"Here, a wooden landing stage juts out into the reflective waters of Derwent Water on a particularly calm morning. Having arrived 45 minutes before sunrise, this scene was initially bathed in the light of the full moon. This picture was taken just before sunrise as the sun illuminated the edges of the clouds with a soft pink light. A few days after this picture was taken, after 5 inches of rain had fallen within 24 hours, only the very tops of the vertical posts of this landing stage were visible above the level of the water of the lake." |
