"In late spring, the Broad-bodied Chaser is the first of the Dragonfly species of the year to emerge from my garden pond. The reflective surface of their wings is most obvious just after they have emerged. Luckily it was a generally cool and overcast day and so this dragonfly could be easily approached as it was not warm enough to be very active. However, I only had about 30 seconds once the sun did come out, before the insect warmed up enough and flew off." |
