"The lighthouse at Pointe de Barfleur, at a height of 75m, is the third tallest lighthouse in the world. Its light can be seen so far out into the English Channel that it is still visible when the light from the St Catherine's Lighthouse, on the Isle of Wight, can also be seen. The stone block causeway, which runs out to the rocky outcrop on which the lighthouse sits, provides a strong compositional subject for photography." |
