"A moth of late autumn, the Sprawler has only been recorded once each year since I started moth trapping in the Hampshire garden. The name 'Sprawler' is said to come from the larva's habit of throwing its head back in a defensive manner, but for me its name seems to perfectly describe how one usually finds it sprawled out on a flat surface."
